First time here and the food was amazing! We couldn't decide on what to order so we started with cheese fries which had the perfect amount of crisp. We also ordered the fried chicken and waffles with strawberry butter which was amazing; fried chicken with mashed potatoes, and grits with shrimp. Everything was amazing and you get plenty of food for your money. Dakota was our server he was very attentive and sweet. I will definitely be back the food and Dakota blew me away.
Our Server Nicole was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Servers nowadays usually do not take pride in the work they do but that is exactly opposite with her. She genuinely cared about us as her customers. She was efficient and fast with our drinks and food without over crowding us all the while we watched as she was doing a hundred tasks at once and still never skipped a beat with us. Will absolutely eat here again as long as Nicole is our server!
This was our first visit to Metro Diner, and it was definitely memorable and we will definitely be back. When we arrived on Saturday morning about 9:10, the place had a crowd but it wasn't crowded... yet! While we were there, the crowd kept growing, until there was a substantial wait outside. That speaks to the excellence of this place. We went for breakfast, so I can only speak to that. The eggs and pancakes from the menu were the choice for the visit, and everything was met with complete satisfaction. The eggs were cooked just as ordered, and the pancakes were fluffy without being too sweet. The wait staff was great...our waiter definitely cared about our comfort and our order. He visited enough for us to feel cared about, but not enough to be hovering. I would definitely recommend Metro Diner. It may be "only" a local favorite, but definitely don't let that stop you!!
A mouth full of grease
We travel about 40 minutes just to eat here! I mainly come here for the chicken and waffles with the strawberry butter! I'd also like to applaud the manager Jacob and the job well done that he has done for this restaurant. It's located near Oxford , but is definitely the Tri-County's best kept secret with their daily specials on breakfast and drinks.
