Not even a question as being The Villages best culinary offering. The Angler's Club is an exclusive members only club located in the Lake Sumter Landing area. Chef Matt is a consistent master with his creations, and does not hesitate to include or exclude variations based upon members individual likes and dislikes. My own preference in beer was even acquired on the menu especially for me! The staff always knows your names and the service is extraordinary. Unmatched! My wife and I comment often about how every staff member backs up the others like a well trained team. The food is beyond compare. Yes, there is a membership cost for this kind of establishment, and each person must weigh that cost alongside of what they desire in a dining experience, but for my wife and I it is very worth the fee for the exclusivity that The Angler's Club provides.

I absolutely love the Angler's Club. The food, drinks, and service are top-notch. The seared scallops were some of the most perfrctly cooked scallops I have had. Perfect sear and not overcooked. The expresso crusted buffalo loin was also amazing. Spot on medium rare cook on it and the coffee paired very well with this game meat. And then there are the drinks. Some of thee most perfrctly crafted cocktails I have had. If you're looking for fine dining in the Villages and know someone with a membership, I highly recommend bugging them to take you.

Service was very good, wait staff only forgetting a few things. Ambiance was okay but chairs were not comfortable and piped in music was too loud. Our meals were overcooked, steaks tough and veggies were either mushy or tough. Very disappointing and pricey for the quality. We had thought about applying to become members but decided against it after our experience here with two other couples. Just FYI, current (2023) membership requires either $200 minimum in purchases per month or a $1000 annual fee that does not apply to purchases.

The Angler's Club is a private dining experience. One that you will not soon forget. The ambience has the feel of a private family lodge. The staff feels more like family, and is as inviting as they are inventive. I really appreciated the team feel here. There was no "hierarchy." It was all hands on deck as the manager and our appointed table host were equally engaging. They went out of their way to make you feel special. Even the chef attended our table to hear our feedback. Probably due to the fact he must have a great deal of confidence in his obvious skill-set. So let me tell you about the food. We had a seared venison that was out of this world. No gamy flavor even though served medium rare. It was beyond impressive! Then we had coffee ground crusted bison. OMG, just wow! If you've seen my reviews before, you'll know that I'm rarely at a loss for words. The swordfish steak was also beyond delicious. There is no way that I can verbally convey how awesome this meal was overall. Hopefully my pictures can tell the story until you can get there to try it for yourself. We ended the evening with a tableside flambéed bananas foster. This was cooked up right in front of us by our server/table host. Incredible!
